Mirjana Batinić (Croatia / Slovenia): Ex Voto

A metaphysical image of passion, an immense and double view on of the same kiss on Menza's stage creates an intimate atmosphere of a 'kissing booth'. Mirjana treats the kiss as the unique pre-principal of passion. It is a perfection that needs no word, no explanation, and no analysis. It is the space in between, liberated of any meaning – pure passion. Passion is in passion itself and nowhere else.

Mirjana Batinić (1977) was born in Split. She is studying in Ljubljana. She graduated at the Art Academy in Split in 2003. She works in various disciplines: video, new media, sound, painting, photography, internet and graphic design. She has presented her work in over 50 exhibitions and festivals home and abroad, and has been publishing poetry, prose and computer graphics in art and design magazines.
